PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM THE RARE DISEASES OF THE PERITONEUM NEED YOUR SUPPORT
AMARAPE (Association against the Rare Diseases of the Peritoneum) is an association created following the initiative of patients suffering from rare cancers of the peritoneum: pseudomyxoma and mesothelioma.
The association, born at the end of 2007, is the unique association grouping diseases treated by an innovative technique called intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy (HIPEC). This recent method offers the unique hope of remission for patients who have been condemned to an early death.
The aim of the association is to inform the public and health care professionals on these rare diseases in order to improve the diagnosis of these cancers which are still often diagnosed at late stages. Members include researchers, nurses, medical doctors and surgeons involved on a daily basis in the treatment of these diseases, as well as the famous Olympic champion Gwendal Peizerat who sponsors AMARAPE.
In addition, the association is committed to provide guidance to patients and their families, to accompany them and support them in their difficult journey for their fight against cancer.
The next general assembly will be held on the 13th March 2010 from 15h30 to 17h00 in the Faculty of Medicine of the Lyon-Sud Hospital Centre, 165 Chemin du Grand Revoyet, 69495 PIERRE BENITE Cedex.
It now becomes urgent to make our association known and to promote the actions of AMARAPE.
We need your help.
