I was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer in September 2011 and underwent my first surgery on November 28, 2011. (See my first testimonial from 2012). In 2013, a recurrence required another operation, performed on April 4, 2013, by the same surgeon. This operation revealed that the disease had spread to a large part of my remaining organs and allowed for the removal of certain nodules and the resection of part of my peritoneum…
The disease progressed from low grade to high grade.
The treatment changed. A series of 12 sessions of conventional chemotherapy (Folfox) was set up at a rate of one every two weeks and ended in November 2013.
On January 15, 2014, a CT scan and MRI showed that the disease had stabilized, justifying the suspension of chemotherapy until March.
Following the CT scan on March 20, 2014, the oncologist noted a very slight increase in the nodules, maintained the suspension of chemotherapy, and prescribed a new CT scan at the end of May.
However, I lead a relatively active life, while prioritizing rest periods. If other patients are in the same situation and wish to communicate, I would be happy to share our difficulties and hopes.
